SONS OF DARKNESS - SONS OF LIGHT Review by Rand Anath

As someone who has spoken in depth with the author, I am pleased to recommend Ms. Navarro's easy-to-understand treatise as a MUST for anyone curious about the Nephilim mentioned in the Book of Enoch.

What began with her love of the mythologies and lore spun by Carl McCoy (from Fields of the Nephilim) has blossomed into a fascinating compendium tracing the Nephilim and their path through the Bible, Dead Sea Scrolls and many other early religious texts.

Ms. Navarro's exhaustive comparisons, break down of Hebrew (for a lay person such as myself) and her thoughtful commentaries on the various Watchers/Nephilim makes for an engrossing read. I particularly enjoyed how she mapped the Nephilim in Biblical stories (Samson for example), and her in-depth notes on the pivotal Watchers mentioned in Enoch.

This book is for folks with an interest in mythologies, Biblical lore, unravelling fables and symbols within Biblical/Religious contexts. For those with passing and deep understanding of mystic systems and/or interests in angels and demons might find this fascinating as well.

It's also handy for the Neophyte: wondering what's up with these fallen angels known as Nephilim who have made their mark through pop culture? After reading this you'll understand. And for anyone that loves Fields of the Nephilim and wants to know more behind the lyrical mysteries of Carl McCoy, this little book does the trick.

I hope to read more of Rayvn Navarro's work in the future. Unlike other works on the like-minded subject(s) Ms. Navarro's style is authoritative without being preachy, snobby or drab.

She makes this compelling for those with both passing and deep interests in the subject (I'm of the former).

IN MOMENTS OF MADNESS Review by Rayvn Navarro

I don't know if this is exactly kosher or not, and I don't really care! As long as I don't review my own stories, I think we're okay. Anyway, I'm really excited about this anthology. There are some really great tales in it. I want to thank all the authors who participated in it, because they are the ones who made it special.

"Madness" lives up to it's name. There's a fantastic mix of mythology, insanity, erotica, and dreams gone awry packed into the stories. It's not a book for 'sensitive types' but if you're a little 'outside the box' yourself, you'll love these stories. There's sex, drugs and rock n' roll; seductive selkies and naughty nagas; erotic elevators and a magic wand; a little bondage; an unscrupulous joker and a despicable black market antiquities dealer; an avenging angel; primordial visions of Kali Ma; a Bengal Lancer; strange things said in padded cells, and gods on commuter trains. What's not to like? Not only that, the stories are well writen and enjoyable 'dark' reading. Highly recommended, even if I weren't just the tiniest bit prejudiced!

The cover art is diabolically mind-bending, too! How many fingers am I holding up?
